Teaching Philosophy
My personal philosophy for teaching science is that students learn best when they are given the opportunity to discover for themselves and are able to collaborate with their peers. Inquiry based learning is a student first style of learning that pushes the student to make their own deductions and try to explain the phenomena themselves rather than being lectured to by a teacher and given the answer from the beginning. This type of learning also stresses the importance of lab work and collaboration with peers which I find to be critical to a learning internment. I try to incorporate inquiry based learning into all of my lessons.
